Originally from Ichintón, municipality of San Juan Chamula in Chiapas, Tzotzil-speaking. He dedicated himself to literature from 1998 to 2008, received the prize of the Narrative Contest “And the Bolom says …”, of the State Center of Language, Art and LiteratureIndigena (CELALI). He was a fellow of the National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA) to study the XII Diploma in Literary Creation in the General Society of Writers of Mexico (SOGEM), 2002. Co-author of the book Different colors of the earth.
He studied contemporary photography at the Centro de la Imagen and Centro de las Artes de San Agustín, Oaxaca, 2013. He has participated in collective exhibitions such as: Chiapaneco: Contemporary Indigenous Photography and Film from Chiapas, Galerie der Kunststiftung Poll, Berlin, Germany, 2013. Between Thanatos and Hypnos, Colectivo Fotografia Contemporánea Chiapaneca (Focochi), Tragameluz Festival 2014, San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas.
His work is part of the book and expose Develar y detonar. Photography in Mexico ca. 2015 “, curator of Hydra, project of the Center of the Image, Fundación Televisa, editorial RM, and CENART. The exhibition was inaugurated at CentroCentro Cibeles, Madrid, Spain, at the PHotoEspaña 2015 festival, showing from June 2 to August 31. Later it was shown in the National Center of the Arts, Conaculta, Mexico City, from the 24 of October 2015 to the 22 of January 2016.
