JUAN JOSÉ HERRERA

Lives and works in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

Bachelor and Master in Communication, graduated from Tecnológico de Monterrey. His work is developed from photography and video. Some of his projects have been part of collective exhibitions in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Yucatan, Hidalgo and Oaxaca, as well as Argentina, Germany, Bolivia, Spain and the United States, among others. Participated in the FONCA Program of Exchange of Artistic Residences at the Banff Center, Canada. Acquisition Prize at the Third Biennial of the Visual Arts of Yucatan and the Hall of Photography 2012-13. Beneficiary of a support by the Photography Fair of Nuevo León 2008, PECDA 2009 and Support for the Production of work by the Multimedia Center of the National Center for the Arts 2010. Professor in the area of ​​photography at LaSalle College International And in the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Member of the National System of Creators of Art of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts, edition 2010.

His work is part of the book and exhibition “Unveil and detonate. Photography in Mexico ca. 2015 “, curator of Hydra, project of the Center of the Image, Fundación Televisa, editorial RM, CENART. The book was published by the RM publisher in June 2015. The exhibition was inaugurated in Centro Centro Cibeles, Madrid, Spain, at the PHotoEspaña 2015 festival, showing from June 2 to August 31. Later, he was shown in the National Center of the Arts, Conaculta, Mexico City, from the 24 of October 2015 to the 22 of January 2016.
