EDITING AND PRESENTATION OF PORTFOLIOS

Knowing how to edit and present our portfolio is key in every photographer's career.The aim of the workshop is to learn how to put together a portfolio of work, whether commercial or personal, for presentation at reviews or job interviews.We will learn how to edit and articulate the discourse in images to communicate our objective, analysing who it is aimed at and what we want to achieve.We will also review how to put our project in writing, as a fundamental part of the process of presenting our photos. 

1st session:Analysis of portfolios of authors with a consolidated discourse in order to understand their structure and proposal.review of photography festivals and publishing houses where we can present our work.writing exercises for individual projects. 

2nd session: Review of the writing exercises and editing dynamics with the participants' projects, to consolidate the graphic discourse of our portfolio. 

Session 3: Individual presentation of each participant's project portfolio to the working group as a practical exercise, exchanging views and opinions to enrich the presentation.

MARIELA SANCARI
ARGENTINA/MEXICO

(Buenos Aires, 1976). She has lived and worked in Mexico City since 1997 and her work revolves around identity and memory and the way in which both are affected by time and space. She examines personal relationships linked to memory and the thin, elusive line that separates memories and fiction. 

She has received numerous awards: with the series Moisés, she won the Premio Descubrimientos PHotoEspaña 2014, received an Honorable Mention at the XI Bienal Monterrey Femsa 2014, won the VI Bienal Nacional de Artes Visuales Yucatán 2013 and was selected for the XVI Bienal de Fotografía del Centro de la Imagen. Named one of the Discoveries of the Meeting Place 2014 at FotoFest, Houston, nominated as one of the 30 PDN's: New and Emerging Photographers to Watch in 2013. She received Honorable Mention in the Official Selection Artemergente Bienal Nacional de Monterrey 2012 and in the Mexican Contemporary Photography Competition of the Mexican Film and Arts Foundation of Coahuila. Finalist of the 2012 and 2013 APA scholarship awarded by the Lucie Foundation in Los Angeles, California and winner of the 3rd National Photography Competition La Membrana. 

Selected to participate in the Transatlántica portfolio reviews of PHotoEspaña 212 and her series is part of the travelling exhibition (Re)presentations presented in Madrid, Spain, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Caracas, Venezuela. Recipient of a CONACULTA grant for the program artistic residencies FONCA-CONACYT in Buenos Aires, 2013. 

He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Mexico City and abroad in cities such as New York, Madrid, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Guatemala City, Sao Paulo, Fort Collins, Houston and Cork, Ireland. In 2011 he studied at Seminario de Fotografía Contemporánea at Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City.

Send to enlace@hydra.lat the registration form, minimum 15 and maximum 30 own and/or appropriate images (150 dpi approx. 1920px on the longest side, .jpg format or a PDF).

Each image must have the name of the author, surname and name of the series; example: Luis_Ruiz_paisajesperdidos-01.jpg and then attach them in a folder with the name of the author and the project. If you have an idea to develop during the workshop, send a description or proposal.

SCHOLARSHIPS
We offer 2 half scholarships. You can apply for them by sending us a letter explaining the reason for applying for the scholarship.
