Joan Fontcuberta

Artist, teaching, essayist, critic and Spanish art promoter specialized in photography, David Octavious Hill Award for Photographisches Akademie GDL in 1988, Chevalier de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Ministry of Culture in France in 1994, National Photography Award, granted by the Ministry of Culture of Spain in 1998 and National Trial Prize in 2011. As a promoter of events related to photographic art, it organized the Catalan Jornadas of Photography, in 1979, and in 1982, it collaborated in the Constitution of the photographic spring of Barcelona. In 1984, he was the Commissioner of Exposure Ida and Chaos. Photographic avant-garde in Spain 1920-1945, exhibited at the National Library of Madrid and at the International Photography Center (ICP) of New York and later photographic creation in Spain 1968-88 exhibited at the Cantini Museum of Marseille and in the center of Art Santa Monica de Barcelona. In 1996 he was appointed artistic director of the International Photography Festival of Arles. In 1998 he obtained the National Prize of Photography of the Ministry of Culture of Spain. In 2011 he obtained the National Test Award granted by the Ministry of Culture for the work of Him 'the Chamber of Pandora'.
