Juan Jose Herrera

(Monterrey, Nuevo León, 1973) Bachelor and Master in Communication, graduated from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He participated in the Program of Exchange of Artistic Residences (FANCA) at the Banff Center, Canada. He was a beneficiary of a support from the Hall of Photography of Nuevo León 2008, of the 2009 Pecda and the support for the production of work by the Multimedia Center of the National Center of the Arts 2010, in the same year he became a member of the National System of Art Creators (FONCA). He obtained the prize of acquisition in the third biennial of the Visual Arts of Yucatan and the Hall of Photography 2012-13. He has been a professor in the photography area in Lasallle College International and at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Some of it projects have been part of collective exhibitions in Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Jalisco, Yucatán, Hidalgo and Oaxaca, and outside Mexico in Argentina, Germany, Bolivia, Spain and the United States, among others. The work of him is part of the book and exposure Rate and detonate. Photography in Mexico ca. 2015., Hydra Curator, Project of the Center of the Image, Fundación Televisa, Editorial RM, Cenart. The book was published by the RM publishing house in June 2015. The exhibition was inaugurated in Centro Cibeles, Madrid, Spain at the Festival PHOTOEPAÑA 2015, showing from June 2 to August 31. Subsequently, it was shown at the National Center for Arts, Conaculta, Mexico City, from October 24, 2015 to January 22, 2016. He lives and works in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
