Laura Barrón works with photography and video. She has a degree in Visual Arts by Enap, UNAM and obtains the Master's Degree in Visual Arts from York University in Toronto in Canada. She has taught photography in various institutions including the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos Uaem, York University and Ocad University in Toronto Canada. The work of it is part of several public and private collections and has been awarded and extensively supported by Fonca-Conaculta in Mexico, the OTARIO Arts Council, Toronto Tac and Canada CAC. The work of Laura of her explores the meanings of the landscape. She investigates territory, geography and cartography to create relationships between memory, place and presence. In 2003 she emigrated from Mexico to Canada. She is currently living among the city of Toronto and Mexico City and is part of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA).
