ONLINE EDUCATION
NEW EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM ONLINE
HYDRA has always had a vocation to generate new forms of dialogue and horizontal learning, through the creation of heterogeneous groups of students and teachers, where the different cultural, geographical and ideological origins generate a space of creation, experimentation and exchange of an enormous and surprising wealth.
At this moment in which uncertainty permeates everything, corporeality is resignified, and we find ourselves in unforeseen and extraordinary ways in vital experiences of dialogue and collaboration, we seek to open a space for the multiplicity of views that will allow us to regenerate our ways of conceiving the other and ourselves, the relationship between the moment, tradition and the future.
The current situation of transformation throughout the world allows us to listen and dialogue about creation, its links to life, the social, political and cultural context in which it is inserted in regions previously out of our reach, allowing us to open up fundamental questions about the very nature of creation and to question the way in which the circuits of validation of art work and our position in relation to them.
HYDRA offers you a new and extensive programme of online seminars and workshops that open up new possibilities for learning, dialogue and collaboration with artists, thinkers and specialists from all over the world.
We open a growing variety of online programs that complement each other, with the aim of offering training from theory, reflection, production of works, photobooks, digital preservation, archive management, as well as technical workshops.

IMAGE TECHNOLOGIES
LAURO LÓPEZ SÁNCHEZMEXICOONLINE PRE-ENGRAVING WORKSHOP
The aim of this course is to trace an archaeology of technological media and their close ideological relationship to the development of reproduction media such as film, the camera and audiovisual media from their very beginnings. On the one hand, we will analyse concrete examples of how the gaze has been gradually displaced and supplanted by a complex system of military and police security surveillance. We now have a hybrid technological system deployed at all levels of life, where reality is associated, organised and determined. This leads to a whole ontological problematic, as it rethinks the place of the production of the gaze and the place of the spectator.

PERSONALISED ADVICE

FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Beyond its biological imperatives and the contingencies inherent to its being in the world, the body demands to be invented on a daily basis: in image. If each era promotes an ideal body and insists on a catalogue of bodily anathemas, it is in the face of them that each person invents the image of their body, that singular and dynamic image with which they recognise themselves and present themselves to others. Art concentrates the tension between the acceptance of the ideal and its negation, between the approval of the anathemas and their rejection, between submission and rebellion against the stereotype.

MULTIPLICITY OF HYDRA HEADS
AN AXIS AND SEVERAL COMMUNICATING VESSELS
This program seeks to offer, from the multiplicity of moments constructed by the gaze of each participant, a multiverse of cultures, places, disciplines, reflections, personal stories; to open up a rich panorama full of new paths, as a basis for other forms of dialogue, collaboration and production that open up the possibility of other scenarios and circuits for the circulation and validation of the work from a critical stance that includes forms of creation that respond to the needs of communities that until now have not been within the hegemonic scenarios of contemporary art.
A look at the threads that connect the present with the traditions that go back to 1500, to the present from different approaches such as philosophy, art, politics, culture. These programs seek to build rafts that allow us to navigate in new waters to create other forms of collaboration, production and dialogue between cultures and, above all, people, in future projects.
Openness to listening to different voices, initiating dialogue and building new ways of collaborating is fundamental to a transformation of our notion of the art medium, asking questions about the place from which we create, the needs of artists, different cultures and places in the world, and how to rethink spaces and circuits of validation that correspond to the reality of a huge part of the world that has been considered peripheral to the hegemonic art scene.
What makes us create? What themes are addressed in different parts of the world? What are the spaces for validation, museums, galleries, competitions, fairs, publications, what do we seek as a goal for our work? What is the role of photography in different parts of the world and how does it relate to local and global society?
The global crisis we are facing urges us to rethink these essential questions to art and reinvent the scene in which we want to develop and grow projects that respond to places previously isolated from each other, and that need to rebuild other ways of thinking, creating and circulating art according to the real needs of artists and the communities and audiences we want to reach.
It is time to rethink these questions, to choose our interlocutors to invent the spaces that allow creation to be enriched by other experiences and thus find new forms of dialogue and circulation of our work.
This project is built in two stages:
