(URUGUAY/MEXICO) Ana María Martínez de la Escalera was born in Montevideo, Uruguay. She holds a Master's and Doctorate in Philosophy from the UNAM. She is a full professor of Aesthetics and Art Theory at the Faculty of Philosophy at UNAM. Her field of research and production is modern and contemporary aesthetics; her instrument of analysis is Critical Theory and she intervenes in this from the perspective of gender criticism and thinking about technology. She has published 7 books and more than 300 articles and book chapters. She is a lecturer. She has been a member of CONACyT's National System of Researchers since 1998. This year she received the Sor Juana prize awarded by the UNAM.
