CONSERVATION TREATMENT CLINIC

The aim of this clinic is to provide participants with practical solutions for the preventive conservation of the photographic materials contained in their collections.
Attendees will finish with a table of recommendations specific to their collection.
Differences between Restoration and Conservation .
The importance of prevention before restoration, we can all do prevention with concrete actions. We can all conserve by preventing, but first we must know the physico-chemical characteristics of the materials.
MERCEDES AGUADO ZAMORA MEXICO
She completed a degree in restoration at the National School of Conservation in Mexico City, ENCRYM, and a specialisation in Conservation and Restoration of photographs, program international at the same institution.
She has also given courses and seminars on photography since 2000. She is currently the head of the Laboratory of Conservation and Collection Management of the Historical Collections of Fundación ICA.
She was Head of Restoration of the collection housed in the Antigua Academia de San Carlos, Faculty of Arts and Design, UNAM. Independently, she has participated in various restoration projects.
