"The contemporary self-portrait should show the artist, explore his concept of identity - whether his own or in a broader or universal sense - and should offer the viewer a biased point of view or a contemplation of the self.
Susan Bright

The workshop proposes the construction of images based on exploration and introspective research. To initiate a photographic project based on different forms of self-representation that respond to the needs, concerns and obsessions of each participant.
The workshop will take place in group and individual sessions. Throughout the workshop, a photographic project will be developed using the self-portrait as a starting point. In group sessions, different themes will be presented in relation to self-representation, authors, forms and production strategies. Each student will be assigned different exercises that will help in the creative and practical solution of their images.

Daily individual review of the images that have been developed from the proposed exercises. Analysis of the work of various authors who have used the self-portrait as a fundamental part of their photographic creation. At the end of the workshop, the student will have a selection of photographs that can form part of a project or notes for future development. The workshop will close with an exhibition of the group's results.
