La versión en inglés de Cómo reservar en Japón se creó especialmente para su debut en la Feria del Libro de Arte de Nueva York de 2024. Fue producida por NEUTRAL COLORS para llevar la voz de los creadores japoneses al mundo. La edición japonesa de Cómo reservar es la tercera del mundo, después de Cómo reservar en Berlín. Siguiendo el espíritu de la edición de Nueva York, está compuesta por las voces de 20 editores, libreros y artistas activos en el sector editorial en diversas regiones de Japón. The English version of How to Book in Japan was created especially for debut at the 2024 NY Art Book Fair. It was produced by NEUTRAL COLORS to bring the voice of Japanese creators to the world. At the end of the book, information on the location of Riso Studios, resources, and recommended bookstores in Japan is included.

The Japanese edition of How to Book is the third in the world, following How to Book in Berlin. In the spirit of the New York edition, it is composed of the voices of 20 publishers, booksellers, and artists active in publishing in various regions throughout Japan. It is intended to serve as a guide for those who decide to publish a book, whether it be an art book, a collection of artworks, or anything else.

With ingenuity and ideas, it will not be made in mass production or a very small number of copies, but a “book” that others can pick up and that has room to expand. We hope that it will be a useful tool that guides, encourages, and gives hints so that those who really want to create do not have to give up. Contributors’ activities vary in style. Each contributor has his or her own beliefs about what to make into a book and for what purpose. When you create a book, you will need to find your own way to make it your own.
