THE EYE OF THE GLACIER

ABOUT THIS BOOK
A story that narrates a family conflict that led to an escape to a place where silence and contemplation reign. It was an act of love that caused fracture and displacement, as in a glacier, and to this day the fragments of what seemed so solid continue to separate. Thus THE EYE OF THE GLACIER is an invitation to look.
Luis David Brito uses photography as a means of constructing a map of a complex family constellation, where roles have been disrupted, altering the author's place in the world. The photograph, as a metaphor for the visible, for the bonds that unite his family, is deconstructed and reconstructed in the process of the author's transformation. The mountain, the glacier, become the space of the narrative of the author's encounter with himself in the landscape. The book is the intervention of life through the intervention of photography and materials, resulting in an object of extraordinary workmanship by Brito. The process of materialisation of the book is in itself a symbolic act of transformation of the author.
